Why did you create this resource?
How do I use this resource?
Own My Life has been delivered on the Isle of Man since 2020, but we have only just developed a specific women's rights video for the island. We received free research support from historians and others, and so wanted to make this video and support resource freely available, so that those who helped us develop it can utilise it in their work.
In whatever way is most beneficial for your context. The video could be used as a discussion starter with adults or young people about Manx women's rights or as part of a workshop, assembly or other session. The worksheet available below and HERE enables users to consider their own connection to women's rights on the Isle of Man and beyond. I love the resource, how do I get access to more of your content?
We are a registered charity working across the UK, Ireland and beyond. Mostly we train practitioners to run a 12-week course called "Own My Life" with women, either in groups or one-to-one. You can find your nearest course HERE.
We've made this resource freely available to make the biggest positive difference. We only ask that you credit Own My Life as creators of the resource (rather than presenting it as your own work).
We also have UK, Irealnd, Australian and Welsh Women's Rights Timeline resources. For those working with women and children (in a paid or voluntary context), our joyous 5-day online training (click HERE for details and to book) gives you access to all our materials, alongside meaningfully equipping you to work in positive and transformative ways.
